Costume Information

ioriCharacter: Iori Minase | 水瀬伊織

Series: The iDOLM@STER | アイドルマスター

Variant: Shiny Festa (シャイニーフェスタ) / Symphony 365

Completed: 2013

Debut: Katsucon 2013

Partners: IchigoKitty (Hibiki), Katie (Takane), Kapalaka (Azusa), Julie (Yayoi), Melfina (Miki), Akuriko (Yukiho), Inabari (Chihaya), Elle (Haruka), KohimeBashiri (Makoto), Yuurisans (Ami & Mami)

I inevitably had to cosplay Iori because she is tsundere, voiced by my favorite seiyuu, and has pink for her image color. I was very excited to join IchigoKitty & co. on creating a complete group because these costume designs really appealed to me.

The outfits do not look hard, but were tricky to sew and coordinate with 11 other people scattered across the USA in different states. I made this around the same time as another costume with a jacket, so it was nice to learn how to do notched lapels all in one go. I also learned how to sew piping for this. Materials used included specialty ordered light blue suiting, custom created polka dot fabric from Spoonflower thanks to IchigoKitty and Inabari, and white casa satin from JoAnn. We used commercial patterns for the underskirt, shirt, and bolero. The rest of the patterns were either self-drafted or created by other members and shared with the group. IchigoKitty cast the brooches for everyone, and Akuriko cast the hearts. The gold accessories attach to the costume with pinbacks and jewelry chains. I had to make a hair bow as well, and glued it to a thin headband. The boots were purchased from eBay and involved painting the soles/heels, painting the laces, cutting a few inches from the top, and making toppers. Wig is from Epic Cosplay Wigs, and contacts are from Pinky Paradise.
